Examples like this, seen at Dragon-Con this year, make me think it’s alright, and I was frankly surprised to see Steampunk X-Men go so well. Gambit is already pretty Steampunk as is it seems, as really the only thing different is his tie. Rogue (or Jean Grey) kind of just looks like your average western harlot, but Wolvie and Prof X are pretty well done.
