Q. Why is your Tumblelog called "My Ear-Trumpet Has Been Struck by Lightning"?
A. Because "My Grandmother's Ear-Trumpet Has Been Struck by Lightning" wouldn't fit in the available space.
The Recital. Frédéric Soulacroix (1858-1933). Oil on canvas.
In 1873, at age 15, Frédéric entered the Academia di Belle Arti of Firenze, and, in 1876, he was admitted to the Scuola di Pittura.
Soulacroix paid great attention to minute detail in his work. As this painting exemplifies, the artist has captured the finest elements of texture, luster and reflection and rendered them with meticulous technique.
