Sunday Magazine (1908).  C. Coles Phillips (American illustrator, 1880-1927). Working between WWI and the late Twenties, Coles Phillips was the first to introduce Art Deco styles into advertising design. He illustrated magazine covers for the Saturday Evening Post, Life, and other magazines with very modern and sometimes seductively designed women.  Some social historians give Phillips credit for the first pin-up girl, later known as ‘The Fadeaway Girl.’
