Until the blackout lifts, my dear Tumblerites and Tumblerians, here’s Vera Lynn and “We’ll Meet Again….”

There’ll Always Be An England - Vera Lynn

letempsdeunoudeuxguerremondiale:

Vera, Vera, Vera, Vera, Vera..
The most iconic woman in my life (apart from my mother and grandma).
She has such an empowering, and the most beautiful voice!
She didn’t just sing and entertain mothers and children at home away from their husband/father, she helped the morale of all of the soldiers fighting in World War Two.
Vera even started a radio show to read the letters of family members to their loved one’s on the front line so that they could keep in touch!
Caring, extremely talented, an idol, articulate, beautiful, and so much more! What is not to like about Dame Vera Lynn.
My idol.
