A.J. Drexel Biddle.

One of my style icons. Classic and reserved, but with a bit of daring. Notice the thinner “bar” tie (not skinny, get it right) with the wider lapeled double breasted jackets.

Some photos taken of Baxter and I by the lovely Soph.

Should’ve styled my head and face hairs better. And not had dodgy one week beard.

The easiest way to identify a well-made suit is the canvas. This is the lining that runs down the front of the jacket and gives it structure. It’s why the front feels different to the back. The canvas can be sewn in, so it can move with you and your movements, or glued.

“And right here let me say a word about conservatism. It does not mean, as many believe or affect to believe, a stubborn refusal to discard what is old and unworn, nor an old fogeyish prejudice against innovations of any kind. It really means a determination to retain what has been tried and proven to be good, and to refrain from the exploitation, simply because it is new, of what is essentially cheap and silly”Winthrop H Brooks, President Of Brooks Brothers, 1935-1946

He must be spinning in his grave now knowing how the Bros. Have almost wholly embraced the silly (tight & short suits by T.Brown) and the new (most all of their shirts chemically treated to be non-iron lifeless things).
