Paulus Moreelse: Portrait of Christian the Younger of Brunswick, 1619.
Thomas Butler was probably the first man to be portrayed in full armor with a gun in hand, but by no means the only one. Christian the Younger of Brunswick, a fanatical protestant leader of the Thirty Years’ War, dubbed Mad Christian by his Catholic adversaries, sat at least twice for such a portrait before he died 1626, in the 27th year of his life.

Poor trigger discipline in the 17th century lol it’s ok though wheellocks only go off like 1/3 of the time.

A young woman dressed in her Salvation Army uniform poses for her portrait in a Brooklyn, New York photographic studio (262 Columbia Street). The woman appears to be holding a bible and her Salvation Army badge is evident on her collar. The name of the photographer is difficult to interpret but it appears to be Thelou & Co. Research reveals that another photographer, named Leeds, also operated at the Columbia Street address, and that in 1883, the studio was put up for sale.
